The photograph shows a presentation of a cheque from Santander staff at the Caernarfon Branch. The money was raised by way of a three-month sponsored beard growing by Mr Jim Edwards of Caernarfon who has a grandson on the Autistic Spectrum, and also from a sponsored walk. Mr Edwards raised a total of £2,750 which was matched by Santander to the tune of £2,100.
The Group wish to thank Mr Edwards, those who sponsored him, and the staff of Santander in Caernarfon for the kind donations. All monies raised will be used for the benefit of the group activities for children.
Some members of the group recently enjoyed an unusual Christmas celebration. Here are a couple of Francine’s photos of them cooking damper bread and roasting marshmallows at a Christmas party in the woods with Active Woods Wales.
The Adult Social Group held their annual Christmas get together at the Victoria Hotel in Menai Bridge on the evening of Tuesday December 9th. 27 members and guests attended and a ‘jolly good time’ was had by all. Here are some of the pictures taken on the night.
November’s meeting is on Tuesday 25 November at the Greenhouse in Bangor when Dr Alan Dowey, from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, will give a talk about pathways to diagnosis and support services for adults.
Photo Competition Winners
Over the recent summer months members of the Asperger’s Adult Social Group have attended weekly session at Coed Llwynonn, Llanfairpwll. The sessions start with light exercises and walks etc. around the woods. The session terminates with a specific activity. The photos show some of the members building a bench seat using hand tools and wood found on site.
Meeting for September will be at Kartio Mon on Friday 26 September further details, transport requests etc. to Denni.
Meeting for October will be at The Greenhouse, Bangor on Tuesday 28th when Anita Daimond will give a talk on Gwynedd Archaeological Trust.

Annual Sponsored Walk
On Sunday 20th July members of the Adult Asperger Social Group and friends held their annual sponsored walk in the Parc Menai and Faenol Estate areas. 22 started and finished the route on what was a fine sunny morning.
All sponsorship money goes towards the activities of the Group e.g. Karting, Bowling etc..

The Adult Social Group Liverpool Trip 17th June, 2014
On Tuesday 17 June 2014 27 members and carers from the Group travelled by coach to Birkenhead where they visited the ‘U Boat Story’ exhibition. The visit gave an insight into life on board the U-534 salvaged from the seabed in 1993 and brought to Woodside in Birkenhead.
The party then went on the ‘Ferry across the Mersey’ to Pier Head in Liverpool and spent a very enjoyable afternoon in the City, visiting various sites and exhibitions, museums etc. in the Albert Dock area before returning home. Photographs were taken of the group (below)
The Adult Social Group will be bowling at the Llandudno Indoor Bowling Centre on Tuesday 29 April, 2014
On Tuesday 25 March 2014 25 members and carers visited Cartiomon near Bryngwran and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. 16 members actually drove round the track, 4 of whom had never driven before! Following the karting the members enjoyed a meal in the Function Room. Everyone said they were looking forward to a return visit. Please see some of the photographs taken on the night.
